Active verb & Passive verb

Both of the above pictures come from ''The Prince and the Pauper'', the Arthur is Mark Twain, retold by Rosemary Border.
The first picture is an example of active verb. ''his grandmother'' is the doer and ''straw''is the receiver.
The second pictures is an example of passive verb. ''The boy'' is the receiver and ''silk'' is the doer.

Ada, I suggest you reread the active and passive voices explanation in your grammar book; straw is the object of the preposition - not the verb. Moreover, silk is certainly doing nothing in your second example, though the passive voice is correct.
