There are a lot of similarities between Colonial America and Colonial Hong Kong. Both of them were under the rules of law, everyone needed to obey the rules including the president( The top of the government).
Under the president, both of them had the Legislative Council and the Executive Council for Central Administration.
There were many foreigners came to Hong Kong for trading because the trading in Hong Kong was free but the 13 Colonists were not.
Besides, the people in 13 Colonists must pay the tax when they was buying some articles for daily use such as sugar, tea and wine.

Ada, do the colonies have a rule of law? Countries, I believe, possess this. You do make a good point about the foreigners.
